Artist Profile

As a woman I am constantly drawn to the tension between public and private. Home continues to play a huge part in my work as it is a place that I feel most comfortable but also at times the most confined. The absurd conflict of what is expected as a woman, these double standards, these ridiculous and sometimes harmful realities are the tension in my work.

Female taboos like sex, being sexual, being nude are played in my art. Continuing to question my own identity through multilayered pieces that on the surface can be something simple as a domestic still life, floral, or what is traditionally associated with woman and home.

Artist Statement

Through my art I am able to save the world. As absurd as that may sound I am taking that belief and practice from a long line of artists,

What that means is connecting with others. Through my art I share a feeling/ story that resonates with others to say that they are not alone, this feeling is valid and real. That renewed human connection though art is healing and beautiful.

Sharing my vulnerability and bravery with others, makes others brave as well. A world where we encourage others to be vulnerable and brave is a world I want to live in.

“Art inspires, provokes thought, reflex beauty and pain. Even in these times I seek it out. And in do so, that is where I find the human spirit."

To make money. When you buy art from an artist that money is not funding violence. You are not adding to human suffering through the violence of corporations, and exploitation of others. That’s a good thing.
